Eclectic Music Projects for Charity

Brothers Will and Jake Thorne make music projects inspired by various genres and causes. Their music is available through virtually all major streaming and online retail outlets for the expressed benefit of the associated charity.  Thorne Brothers do not officially represent, nor speak for any of the charities on this site. We are just trying to raise awareness and a hopefully bit of money for their cause in a musical way.

To benefit the Saving Innocence Project
Indignant riff-rock just feels like the right fit to speak to the plight of young women and girls surviving human trafficking.

Saving Innocence provides escape from trafficking for child victims of sex trafficking. Using a highly relational and collaborative approach by utilizing strategic partnerships with law enforcement, social service providers and schools.

For the benefit of the The Surfrider Foundation
A campy tribute to the surf music pioneers, we reinterpret their signature sounds, to hopefully inspire a renewed respect for their work and most importantly an appreciation of our dying oceans and the natural world. Surf music and cleaning our oceans just seemed to go together well.  In the past 10 years, we’ve made more plastic than the last century. By 2050, the pollution of fish will be outnumbered by our dumped plastics.

Genre : Irish Folk-Rock
2021 • 14 songs • 55 min 45 sec
For the benefit of
UNHCR
If you listen to the narratives and themes of Irish folk music you’ll hear that most of it revolves around the heartache and struggles—and the causes—of oppression, displacement, and immigration. While the sound of the music and particular turn of phrase of the lyrics may be uniquely Irish, the circumstances are, unfortunately, increasingly universal.  These are the songs and stories of Irish immigrants and refugees.

To benefit
 St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
File under “Children’s music” if you must but “Kitchy Classics” is a game of hopscotch through the world's pop music traditions, playfully mocking and celebrating icons and genres in rapid succession.  Sprinkled with humor to span the generations. Kitchy Classics has something for everyone trapped in the car.

“Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”
