The NotesOnce we settled on the genre for The Saving Innocence Project I did my usual and made a playlist of some of my favorites from this space on which to go to school, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Audio Slave, STP, Velvet Revolver, Rival Son, Gojira, Burst, Queens of the Stone Age and so on. With one clear source of inspiration or feeble blatant rip off, whichever you prefer, of Lyle Workman's Titans of Metal because I always like to put at least one instrumental on there.
Will and I bandied about topics and stories we want to tell. As is the norm for us usually the music came first but not always. Not having deep roots in this style nor primarily being a guitar player I went about replacing all the ideas in my head I would have used for keys and horns and the like and just made them into yet more guitars. I found it difficult to have too many. A full break down of how the recording was done and the toys we used, from apps to amps is available on the Liner Notes page. If you have more questions feel free to send us an email. |
